Glow Recipe Drops 'Gentle' Retinol for Acne-Prone Skin

Glow Recipe introduced a new retinol serum to treat acne, but what stood out about this product is that it promises a "gentle" effect for everyday use.

Blackberry Retinol Blemish Serum is the beauty brand's new addition to its fruit-themed collection. This time, it focuses on healing acne-prone skin.

Its main components include blackberry extract, which serves as a powerful antioxidant to boost the skin's natural healing process. The serum also contains the brand's signature 0.16-percent Triple Retinoid Blend, which balances the face's oil production without causing any irritation.

To perfect the formula, a combination of retinal, glycerin, and ectoin were added, which are significant for blurring blemishes, unclogging pores, and maintaining the skin hydrated.

On top of the mentioned "gentle" ingredients, this retinol serum is also created without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. It's also vegan and cruelty-free.

In an editors' review by Bustle, they gave the product a 5 out of 5 rating, lauding its light and refreshing feeling, as well as fast absorption to the skin.

"In just three days, my skin already looks smoother and brighter, and the breakouts on my cheeks and forehead are way less noticeable. It's a retinol serum that will make people who hate retinol want to slather themselves with retinol, and I love that it's super gentle so I can use it every night," said Faith Xue, the executive beauty director of the digital magazine.

Glow Recipe's Blackberry Retinol Blemish Serum is retailed at $48 and can be purchased at glowrecipe.com.
